The "Filed of Flowers" banner was on display for our incredible Mustangs as they entered the building for the last day of school. The banner will hang in the halls of Spencer Loomis for years to come and will serve as a reminder to students, staff, and visitors what our 2020-2021 students endured and how they flourished.

We are pleased to introduce the new officers of the Spencer Loomis
PTO 2021-2023 Executive Board.
Allison Kessel - President
Allison is the proud Mom of Lily (Grade 6) and Earl (Grade 4). The Kessels moved to the area from Chicago and have been at Spencer Loomis for the last four years. Allison is a freelance editor who enjoys gardening and exploring old buildings. She dislikes laundry (we agree) and packed schedules. She has enjoyed being a room parent and committee volunteer and is excited to broaden her involvement with the PTO and help the Spencer Loomis community be the best it can be.
Michelle Hanson - Vice President
Michelle lives in Walnut Creek and is a proud Mom of Aidan (Grade 1) and future Mustang Christian (Age 19 months). Michelle, an avid 'foodie', loves to test new recipes, work out and spend quality time with her boys. Taking time away from her position at Grainger allowed her the opportunity to be more involved with her boys' learning and extracurricular activities during VLA and it's what led her to be more active with the PTO. Michelle looks forward to serving on the PTO while offering support to students and staff.
Katie Allmaras – Vice President
Katie lives in the Stonebridge neighborhood and is the proud and active Mom of Nate (Grade 1), Taylor, (Kindergarten) and future Mustang, Matt (2 years). She has lived in Illinois all her life, and moved to Hawthorn Woods with her husband, Chris, from Buffalo Grove in August 2020. Having transitioned from a corporate management position to a new role as stay-at-home Mom in late-2020, Katie is enjoying (most) every minute at home with her kids while getting to know other families in the area. Katie comes to us with a transferable skill set of strategic stakeholder communications and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Mass Communication. Katie is excited to join the PTO and make a difference for all our kids.
Whitney Smith - Corresponding Secretary
Whitney is proud Mom of Adeline (Grade 8), Eleanor (Grade 5) and Margaret (Grade 2) and her two dogs, Ripley & Rollo. Whitney likes to sew/embroider, volunteer, and help with her kids’ activities. Her Executive Assistant position -- as well as extensive volunteer work including costume co-lead at SL, Girl Scout Fall Product Coordinator and Connect Newsletter Editor at MSN -- will be a tremendous benefit to the PTO. She is looking forward being more involved with fun, in-person PTO sponsored events and activities.
Jigi Shah - Recording Secretary
Jigi has lived in the area for the last four years and is the proud Mom of Sohan (Grade 3) and future Mustang Sofie (Age 4). Jigi is a nurse practitioner who enjoys helping others. She has served on the Book Fair Committee for several years and is looking forward to increasing her involvement with the PTO so she can support the Spencer Loomis community while being a bigger part of the great memories her kids are making.
Congratulations to the new officers, Spencer Loomis is lucky to have you!
